  8. Dracula is a success of the year 1993.
  9. The  film was not a big one, but there
  10. were  very famous actors  shown up and
  11. the  director's  name is speaking  for
  12. himself.   I  have  seen  some reviews
  13. about the film, but I haven't seen the
  14. story  of  Dracula - the real vaivode.
  15. So I decided to write an article about
  16. this man, and about the legends of the
  17. vampires.    Things   used   for  this
  18. article:    6  videocassettes  with  8
  19. Dracula-films, a video-recorder, a TV,
  20. 3 books about legends, 1¼ l vodka, 3 l
  21. beer.   I  hope  you will enjoy this!!
  22. It's just a little story of his life.

  24.  Vlad Tepes, alias Dracula (1432-1477)
  25. Vaivode  in  Transylvania three times.
  26. He  was  in prison from  1462 to 1474.
  27. He  fighted  against the turks, but he
  28. made  some  robberies in the cities of
  29. Transylvania  too.  He impaled lots of
  30. his  enemies, ca.  40000 men (!).  The
  31. name  Tepes = stake.  His father was a
  32. member  of  the  Dragon  Order  (Draco
  33. (latin) = Dragon and Dracul (rumanian)
  34. =   devil).    He   promised  for  the
  35. cadgers,  that  he will free them from
  36. all  the  suffering.   He took them to
  37. the  barn, and set it on fire.  In his
  38. garden  there was the impaled turks in
  39. order.  The essence of his personality
  40. was  the  brutality.  The book Dracula
  41. from  Bram  Stoker  came  out in 1897.
  42. Bram  Stoker  is the master of Dracula
  43. stories.    The  name  'Nosferatu'  is
  44. equal  with  'filled with hopes'.  The
  45. first  film about Dracula was directed
  46. by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, the title
  47. was   Nosferatu.    There  is  another
  48. Nosferatu  which  was out in 1978.  In
  49. Murnau's  Nosferatu,  Dracula is evil,
  50. but  in  the  2nd Nosferatu Dracula is
  51. just  a  victim,  and  his  end is not
  52. happy.      There    are    ca.     50
  53. Dracula-films.   The  classic  Dracula
  54. was  Bela  Lugosi in 1931.  The newest
  55. film  is  F.F.Coppola's  Bram Stoker's
  56. Dracula.    The   costumer   is   Eiko
  57. Ishioka.   Some  of these costums were
  58. 000-20000$!!!  Eike   Ishioka    got
  59. a  Tommy  and a Grammy prize for these
  60. costums.  But, did  vampires  exist or
  61. didn't? Yes, yes, these stories have a
  62. reality ground.    Once  upon  a  time
  63. there     was    rabies-epidemic    in
  64. Transylvania.    These   people  can't
  65. endure the light, and when they have a
  66. fit,  they  bite  their  victim.  They
  67. can't endure the smells, so they can't
  68. endure  the garlic.  The evil vampires
  69. were just tragic fated people.

  75.  About  the film:  my first impression
  76. was  that  it  could be a better porno
  77. than a vampire-film.  The lead (Mina -
  78. the   girl)  kissed  for  example:   3
  79. girls,  a  monster,  a  dead man (when
  80. Dracula  died),  etc.   85  %  of  the
  81. actresses were topless. There were not
  82. too  much  shocking parts (I said that
  83. there were not too much shocking parts
  84. for  people  over 10 years!!), so it's
  85. not  a  good  psycho-horror.   But the
  86. film  is  TOTALLY  like  the book.  No
  87. changes!  If you have read the Dracula
  88. by  Bram Stoker, it's boring.  But the
  89. book  is really nice!  So the film is
  90. cool  too!   The  fx were nice too.  I
  91. can  say that it's a cheap film, which
  92. is  better than other cheap films,'coz
  93. Coppola   can  direct  enough  good...
  94. If you haven't seen  this film,  go to
  95. the cinema!
